The original system's annual power consumption is calculated based on 7000 hours of operation per year.

Annual Energy Savings After Retrofit

Based on equipment operation data analysis, the preliminary estimated energy saving rate is approximately 5%.

2. Project Overview

This energy-saving technology upgrade will be carried out under the premise of ensuring that the new system meets all technical specifications of the original system, operates stably and normally, meets production process requirements, and ensures smooth operation of the company's electromechanical equipment. Its core objective is energy conservation and emission reduction.


This energy-saving upgrade is expected to involve two pieces of equipment: a 355 kW tablet press and a 480 kW tablet press.

The permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motor (PMa-Syn.RM) combines the advantages of permanent magnet synchronous motors and synchronous reluctance motors, featuring high energy efficiency, high reliability, environmental friendliness, and small size. It is suitable for industrial energy saving and various mechanical equipment drive applications, and has broad market prospects.

4. Energy Saving Rate Measurement And Analysis

4.1 Energy saving rate measurement method:

Under identical operating conditions, data was collected using electricity meters agreed upon by both parties. First, statistical analysis was performed on the original asynchronous motor, followed by statistical analysis on the synchronous reluctance motor system.


The hourly power consumption (kWh) of the original asynchronous motor after a period of operation was calculated. After installation and commissioning, the hourly power consumption of the new synchronous reluctance motor system was calculated over the same operating period. n represents the total number of motors being modified.


Based on the on-site data collection and analysis of the existing motor operating conditions, combined with the efficiency of our company's energy-saving motors, energy-saving rate tests conducted by various testing institutions, and energy-saving feedback from some users over the past few years, the following analysis was conducted.


4.2 Motor energy saving forecast:

The original on-site motor was a low-efficiency three-phase asynchronous motor. Compared to our GB18613-2020 Level 1 energy efficiency IE5 ultra-high efficiency synchronous reluctance motor system, the rated efficiency is improved by 2%-5%.


 In actual operation, the original motor was frequently not operating within its rated range, averaging around 50% load. Under these conditions, the original motor's actual operating efficiency was low. Our IE5 ultra-high efficiency synchronous reluctance motor system operates at high efficiency within a load range of 20%-120%. Under this load, the synchronous reluctance motor system's efficiency is 3%-5% higher than the original motor.

In conclusion, it is estimated that after replacing the system with our synchronous reluctance motor system, under the same operating conditions, the energy saving rate will reach approximately 5%.
